Spectrum Paint Products

Spectrum Texcoat

This weather-resistant decorative coating is suitable for properly primed plaster, concrete, and brick surfaces, bridges hairline cracks, and hides surface imperfections. Texcoat paint is a pigment and marble dust-based product used to hide imperfections in plaster, cover hairline cracks, and bridge them. It differs from emulsion paint, which has a smooth finish for interior walls and ceilings. The choice depends on the desired aesthetic effect and the surface being painted. Texcoat paint can be applied by skilled artisan, but tips include washing the surface, applying a thin coat, allowing it to set, using a float to create a textured pattern, using it with adequate ventilation, avoiding contact with eyes, washing hands after use, and keeping the container closed when not in use.

Spectrum Emulsion

Water-based paint, a popular choice for housepainters due to affordability, ease of application, durability, and quick drying compared to oil-based paints, is a blend of synthetic resins, additives, pigments, and water. Emulsion paint is a popular choice due to its affordability, ease of application, durability, and variety of finishes. It is easy to apply and dries quickly, making it suitable for interior and exterior walls, furniture, and canvas. The paint is composed of pigments, an emulsifier, a caulifier, and water, which give it its color. The quality of emulsion paint can vary depending on the type of pigments used and the solid content in the paint. The paint comes in various finishes, including matte, eggshell, semigloss, gloss, and velvet.

Spectrum Satin

Satin paints come in both water-based and oil-based forms. Oil-based paints in general offer a better coverage and will harden quickly. Satin paint is suitable for low-impact surfaces like door casings and windows, while high-impact surfaces require semi-gloss or high-gloss paint. It’s suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, kids’ rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, offices, and finished basements.

Weathershield

This outdoor paint with primer is designed for dirt and stain resistance, providing advanced all-weather protection, ensuring your home’s beauty will endure the test of time. Before applying Weathershield paint, surfaces should be clean, dry, and sound. Any loose paint or powdery residue should be removed, and areas affected by mold, algae, moss, or lichens should be treated with a fungicidal wash

Spectrum Matt

Matt paint is a low-sheen finish commonly used on interior walls and ceilings, with a slightly more sheen eggshell finish, which is named after the egg’s sheen, making it the least reflective option. Matt paint is a versatile and cost-effective option with a uniform color distribution and a velvety finish. It is easy to apply and touch up, and is less expensive per gallon than satin or semi-gloss finishes. However, it is prone to scuffs, especially in dark tones, making it not ideal for high-traffic areas. Matt paint can be used on radiators, wooden furniture, skirting boards, and cupboards, but it requires sanding and priming before application. It is not ideal for high-traffic areas.

Floorpaint

Floor paint is a versatile coating that transforms and protects interior and exterior surfaces, enhancing appearance, durability, and safety in various settings like homes, businesses, garages, warehouses, and industrial facilities. Floor paint offers several benefits, including protection from foot traffic, visual appeal, safety, and maintenance. It provides a non-slip surface, making cleaning and upkeep easier, and can reduce maintenance costs. However, floor paint differs from wall paint in composition, color, and durability. Wall paint is less durable and can flake and scuff if applied without a strong protective layer, while floor paint is more versatile and comes in a range of colors and finishes.

Spectrum Gloss

Gloss paint is a popular choice for painting woodwork, including doors, frames, skirting, and windows, due to its water-based, minimal VOC content, hardwearing properties, and resistance to yellowing over time. The sheen of a paint affects its shine and durability. High-gloss paint is all shine, while matte, eggshell, satin, and semi-gloss paints are used for practical and decorative purposes. Gloss paint, reflecting the most light, is the most’shiny’ and is hardwearing, durable, and washable. It is ideal for high wear areas like interior doors and skirting boards.

Spectrum Silk

Silk paint is a durable, moisture-resistant vinyl emulsion used on interior walls, offering a medium to high sheen finish. It’s easy to apply to various surfaces and is popular for reflective surfaces, making it a popular choice for interior walls. Silk paint is suitable for moisture-prone rooms like bathrooms and kitchens, high-traffic areas like hallways and staircases, and children’s bedrooms and playrooms due to easy fingerprint removal. It is durable, easy to clean, and can make a room appear larger and brighter. However, its smooth appearance can highlight bumps, cracks, and lumps, and it is less breathable than matte emulsions.
